C Square Gallery 於 2024 年 1 月 6 日至 3 月 3 日呈現林辰勳的個展 “When You See It”。

C Square Gallery (former Mr. Wing Gallery)proudly announces the solo exhibition, "When You See It," showcasing Lin Chen-Shun's latest artworks from January 6 to March 3, 2024. This exhibition marks a pivotal moment for C Square Gallery, offering patrons an immersive journey into the realm of artistic speculation surrounding life's mysteries and truths.

Lin Chen-Shun's consistent exploration of the multifaceted dimensions of humanity involves meticulous dissection and reconstruction of the bestial and divine aspects of human nature, all the while subtly referencing the id, ego, and superego. His unwavering commitment to unraveling life's essence is evident in the thematic undercurrent running through his oeuvre. The exhibition's overarching theme, "When You See It," underscores the palpitations inherent in the quest for truth, coupled with the intellectual curiosity and vivid imagination that serve to validate the profound meaning inherent in life.

In his latest series, "When You See It," Lin Chen-Shun delves into the nuanced expression of bestiality, artfully introducing divine symbols and portraying plants as symbolic representations of the mother of nature and an irresistible supreme power. The seamless integration of historical and technological elements is particularly noteworthy, as classic animal symbols find their place on reflective surfaces. This not only mirrors the viewer's countenance and surroundings but also alludes to the challenges associated with probing life's essence through protective shields. These evocative works not only stimulate the audience's intellectual curiosity concerning truth but also echo Lin Chen-Shun's enduring artistic theme of "seeking truth." The luminous technological face masks and meticulously antiquated copper treatments intentionally create a striking dichotomy between the old and the new, reminiscent of precious archaeological artifacts. This symbolic presentation compellingly invites viewers to engage in introspection, rediscover their identity, and, having comprehensively understood themselves, transcend present attachments and dissatisfactions, directing their gaze towards a promising future.

Lin Chen-Shun steadfastly believes that artistic creation serves as a conduit, building a bridge between the spiritual and external realms. Through a process of repeated validation over time, the concepts and values embedded within his works metamorphose into symbols and collective memories for an entire generation. In the intricate interplay between exploration and intellectual curiosity, "When You See It" engenders a profound sense of anticipation and optimism for the future. These sculptures, whether casting a contemplative gaze downward or guiding the viewer's perspective into the distance, herald a thoughtful prelude to the new year.
