石晉華
Shi Jin-Hua is a performance and conceptual artist from Penghu Island, Taiwan. He was diagnosed with diabetes at a young age and has since viewed his own body as a tool to express his spirituality in his art. SHI is a prominent figure in Taiwan's concept and performance art scene.
The "Pen Walking" series is SHI Jin-Hua’s foundational creative work, born from a moment of inspiration during his U.S. studies in 1994. Each painting is created using pencils and finished by sticking the shavings onto the paper, symbolizing the remains of a human body after life has ended. SHI's works are a testament to "physical phenomenology," which asserts that the body is both physical and spiritual, acting as a medium between the external world and his spiritual realm.
石晉華，臺灣少數觀念行為藝術創作者之一，1964 年出生於澎湖馬公，現生活工作於高雄。由於患有幼年型糖尿病之故，從17 歲開始日復一日監測、紀錄身體狀態、注射胰島素，這些經驗迫使藝術家時時面對生存的嚴苛情境，他對待身體猶如一個他者與工具，透過藝術實踐映照出非凡的精神體積。石晉華在臺灣觀念行為藝術領域中，具有歷史性的角色，曾經多次受邀於臺北與亞洲雙年展中展出，作品典藏於澳洲白兔美術館、國立臺灣美術館、臺北市立美術館、高雄市立美術館、臺灣藝術銀行及富達國際。2017 年於高雄市立美術館舉辦大型個展「線－石晉華當代宗教藝術展」。
